Today–Today is the last day to sign up for Central East Maui Little League’s spring season. Registration is online at clubs.bluesombrero.com/cemll. Dec. 6-7–District 3 Little League will be holding a rules/umpire clinic on Dec. 6-7. The rules clinic will be held on Dec. 6 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the Kahului Community Center annex, while field work will be held Dec. 7 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Keopuolani Park Field No. 2. All leagues are encouraged to send representatives, coaches, managers, UIC and board members. Participants should bring their 2019 rule book. For more information, email ceastmauill@gmail.com.

• BASKETBALL

Sunday and Nov. 23–Registration is open for this year’s Maui Jim Maui Invitational Hoops Clinics presented by HMSA. The clinics are open to boys and girls in grades 3-8 and will feature instruction from tournament host Chaminade’s coaches and players from the men’s and women’s basketball teams. Space is limited. On Sunday, Lanai High School will host a clinic from noon to 2 p.m. (check-in at 11:30 a.m.). In addition, there will also be a coaches clinic to follow — from 2-3 p.m. (check-in at 1:30 p.m.) — that is open to high school, middle school and community coaches. Dec. 7–The Kahului Alii Pee Wee football team is playing in the Wescon Regional Championship on Dec. 7 in California, and the team is asking the Maui community for help with its fundraising efforts. The team has set up an online donation page at fanangel.com/kahuluialii. Alternatively, donations can also be mailed to Tua-Nei Kaawa, Kahului Alii Peewee Division, 370-A Liholiho St. Wailuku, HI 96793. Sunday–The Golf Outing at Maui Nui Golf Club benefitting Kihei Charter School is scheduled for Sunday at 12:30 p.m. The tournament is a four-person scramble format. The entry fee $100 per player, which includes lunch (provided by Sunsets Bar & Grill and 808 Deli) and dinner (Fat Daddy’s BBQ). Payments can be made through mobile payment service Venmo — the app can be downloaded to a smartphone or by going online to venmo.com (be sure to note the payment is for the South Maui Learning Ohana). Nov. 30–The 17th annual Mulligans on the Blue Charity Golf Tournament is scheduled for Nov. 30 at the Wailea Blue Course. The four-person scramble tournament, which benefits Hale Kau Kau, begins with a breakfast at 6 a.m. followed by a shotgun start at 7. There will be two hole-in-one prizes — a Toyota car and $10,000 — closest to the pin and bulls-eye games. Lunch will be following play at Mulligans Pub, during which there will be a live and silent auction and an awards ceremony. Sponsorships are also available for $500-$1,000. Jan. 1–The Sentry Tournament of Champions is seeking volunteers for the PGA tournament set for Jan. 1-5. There are various fields that prospective volunteers can be grouped, including On-Course Marshal, ShotLink (includes both walking scorer and laser operator), admissions and information, on-road transportation and on-course transportation. Dec. 4–Kihei Charter School will be hosting an on-campus community health night on Dec. 4 at 6 p.m. The event — a fundraiser for the Kihei Charter canoe paddling team — will feature a showing of the sports nutrition documentary “The Game Changers.” The film explores the benefits of a plant-based diet for athletes. Following the showing, there will be a question-and-answer discussion featuring a panel of local experts. There is a suggested $2 donation for the film, as well as $10 adult plates and $5 kids plates for concessions. Donations can also be made through the mobile payment service app Venmo. Payment should be made to the South Maui Learning Ohana, with “GameChangers” listed under “What’s it for?”

Jan. 16–The Maui Oceanfront Marathon’s Free Cookie Run is scheduled for Jan. 16 at Kalama Park at 8 a.m. Participants are asked to bring cookies and snacks to share, as well as wear old shoes — as they will get wet — that can be donated to the Kihei Youth Center after the event.

Jan. 19–The Maui Oceanfront Marathon is scheduled for Jan. 19, starting at 5 a.m. in Wailea and ending at Kamehameha Iki Park in Lahaina. Early starts begin at 4 a.m. and 4:40 a.m. (seniors 55 and over). The race also includes a half marathon (6:35 a.m.), 15K (6:35 a.m.) and 5K (8:30 a.m.). Event registration and number pickup is set for Jan. 17 at 2480 S. Kihei Rd #28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., and Jan. 18 at the Pioneer Inn in Lahaina from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Kamaaina, senior and military discounts are available.
