UH volleyball seeded 12th, to host opening rounds of NCAA Tournament

The University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team received the No. 12 seed for the NCAA Tournament and will host in the first two rounds this week.

The tournament bracket was released Sunday.

The Rainbow Wahine (24-3), champions of the Big West Conference, will face Northern Colorado (26-7) in a first-round match at 7 p.m. Friday at the Stan Sheriff Center. The winner will face either Washington State (23-9) or San Diego (24-5) on Saturday at 7 p.m. The Cougars and Toreros play at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

UH and San Diego have already met this season, with the Rainbow Wahine defeating the Toreros in five sets on Aug. 30.
