No. 1 Rainbow Warriors dominate Emmanuel

The top-ranked University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team barely broke a sweat in improving to 3-0 this season, sweeping past Emmanuel to open the Raising Cane’s Rainbow Warrior Classic on Thursday night at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.
Even with their backups playing for most of the match, the Rainbow Warriors dominated in the 25-13, 25-15, 25-15 win. UH held huge advantages in hitting percentage (.470-.107), blocks (10.5-0) and aces (9-1).
Playing in just the first set, King Kekaulike High School graduate Colton Cowell finished with a team-high six kills along with an ace, dig and block. Chaz Galloway also had six kills and Max Rosenfeld had seven blocks for the Rainbow Warriors.
The Lions (0-1) were led by Don Thompson with nine kills.
UH plays Harvard today and Grand Canyon on Saturday to wrap up the tournament.
