No. 1 UH wraps up road trip with sweep of King

Colton Cowell had 10 kills and three aces as the top-ranked University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team improved to 9-0 with a 25-19, 25-19, 25-15 win over King on Tuesday in Bristol, Tenn.

Cowell, a King Kekaulike High School alum, also had three digs, a block and an assist for UH, which had huge advantages in blocks (12.5-4), aces (10-2), digs (30-22) and hitting percentage (.358-.152).

Rado Parapunov and Chaz Galloway each added seven kills as the Rainbow Warriors wrapped up a four-match road trip. Brett Sheward had 24 assists and Dimitrios Mouchlias recorded four aces.

Joshua Kim led the Tornado (2-4) with 11 kills.

The Rainbow Warriors now head home for the Outrigger Hotels & Resorts Invitational on Feb. 6-8, against Queens, Concordia and UC Irvine.
