Bears given No. 4 seed, Lunas to face Monarchs in state hoops

Maui Interscholastic League champion Baldwin High School received the No. 4 seed for next week’s Snapple/HHSAA Boys Basketball Division I State Championship.

The state bracket was released Wednesday night. The Division II bracket will be released at the conclusion of league tournaments.

The Bears, who on Tuesday night won their first MIL title since 2014, will take on the winner of Monday’s game between Kahuku and Kaiser next Wednesday at the McKinley gym in Honolulu.

MIL runner-up Lahainaluna will host Damien in a first-round game Monday at 4:30 p.m. The winner advances to the Wednesday quarterfinals, where they will face second-seeded Moanalua.
