Rainbow Warriors beat Nittaidai in four sets

The No. 1-ranked University of Hawaii men’s volleyball team needed four sets to dispatch Nittaidai of Japan on Wednesday night at the Stan Sheriff Center.
The Rainbow Warriors beat Nittaidai 19-25, 25-18, 25-17, 25-20 in front of 4,166 fans.
Rado Parapunov had 10 kills for UH (15-0), Guilherme Voss had nine kills on 12 swings, and Patrick Gasman added kills. No one else on the Hawaii roster had more than four kills — King Kekaulike High School graduate Colton Cowell was limited to three kills and a negative .111 hitting percentage.
Hawaii outhit Nittaidai .360 to .191 for the match.
Makoto Nisimura and Ryo Takahashi both had 13 kills for Nittaidai.
The teams meet again on Friday at the SSC.
