Stomp Out Hunger 5K to go virtual

Hale Kau Kau’s Stomp Out Hunger 5K and 1-Mile Walk will be held virtually this year because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Runners can participate from anywhere in the world from now until Nov. 30. Those who complete the run/walk on Oct. 31, however, are encouraged to wear a costume and take a picture, and then submit the picture with their time to mtrotto@liu.edu.

The entry fee is $30 until Wednesday, with $20 discounts for youth and seniors over 65, and $40 thereafter, with no discounts. Sponsorships are also available.

For more information, email halekaukaufundraising@rcchawaii.org, call 875-8754 or visit halekaukau.org.

The event is a fundraiser for Hale Kau Kau, which during the pandemic continues to feed the homebound 80 meals each day as well as serving 40-70 meals each day from its kitchen.
