Reminder for ‘People Who Made a Difference’

Nominations for The Maui News’ upcoming series “People Who Made a Difference: Sports Edition” are being accepting through today.

The series of stories that will run throughout the summer will recognize members of the Maui County sports community who have made major impacts.

To nominate a person for consideration, send an email to sports@mauinews.com that includes the following:

“People Who Made a Difference” in the subject line;

• The nominee’s name and a brief summary of how they have impacted the sports community in Maui County;

• Your name, contact phone number and relationship to the nominee.

Nominations must be received by 11:59 p.m. tonight.


Miles of Kihei sinks hole-in-one at Maui Nui

Reagan Miles had his first hole-in-one on Friday at Maui Nui Golf Club.

Miles used an 8-iron to ace the No. 3 hole from 134 yards. Witnesses were Scott Miles and Tyson Auffhammer.


Sniffen of Waiehu has hole-in-one at Waiehu

Ted Sniffen of Waiehu recorded a hole-in-one on Sunday at Wai­ehu Municipal Golf Course.

Sniffen aced the 150-yard eighth hole using a 7-iron. Liza Sniffen, Biggie Lara and Candice Jacquot witnessed the shot.
