The bracket for the 2021 Maui Jim Maui Invitational was released on Tuesday by tournament organizer KemperLesnik.

The men’s college basketball tournament is scheduled to run from Nov. 22-24 at the Lahaina Civic Center after being held in North Carolina last year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The first game on Nov. 22 will feature Texas A&M against Wisconsin at 9 a.m. Game 2 is Butler vs. Houston at 11:30 a.m.

The third game will be Oregon against host Chaminade at 4 p.m., and the final game of the first round will be Saint Mary’s facing Notre Dame at 6:30 p.m.

The Oregon-Chaminade game will be televised on ESPNU, while the other three openers will all be on ESPN2.

“When we announced this year’s field, I felt that this could be one of our most balanced and exciting Maui Jim Maui Invitational Tournaments yet,” tournament chairman David Odom said in a news release. “Not only will this year’s field provide the quality play that this tournament is synonymous with, but there’s even more ‘Maui Magic’ in the air as we prepare to bring the tournament back to paradise after a year away.”

Semifinals will be at noon and 3 p.m. on Nov. 23, both on ESPN. The championship game is at noon on Nov. 24, on ESPN.

Two of the eight teams in the field finished the 2020-21 season in the coaches poll (Houston at No. 3 and Oregon at No. 17). Two of the 2021 participants (Notre Dame and Oregon) are ranked in the top 35 all-time winningest schools. Houston, Notre Dame and Wisconsin rank in the top 50 programs with the most NCAA Tournament appearances, with 21, 36 and 24, respectively. Oregon, Saint Mary’s and Wisconsin all rank in the top 20 winningest teams of the last decade.

Saint Mary’s will be making it first-ever appearance. Notre Dame is the only returning program to have earned a Maui Jim Maui Invitational championship title, claiming the crown in 2017.

In ESPN’s Way Too Early Top 25 this year, Oregon is ranked 20th and Houston is No. 24.
