French, who played high school soccer at Mililani, played at the University of Oregon with Baldwin High School graduates Nicole Garbin and Kami Kapaku. She also had a seven-year pro career. French said she was impressed by the skills on display at the showcase, which featured top players from around the state. “Amazing,” she said. “It’s great talent.” She said her goal is to help expand opportunities for Hawaii players to play at the next level.
