Bears move to 2-0 with sweep of Warriors

Ariana Naipo and Faith Alvior each had 11 kills to lead the Baldwin High School girls volleyball team to a 25-17, 25-13, 25-18 victory over Kamehameha Maui on Tuesday night at Jon Garcia Gym in Wailuku.

Naipo also had an ace and 16 digs to record a double-double, and Alvior added six digs for the Bears, who improved to 2-0 in Maui Interscholastic League play. Natronai Anana contributed eight kills with three digs, Kaysha Tanaka had 15 digs and three aces, and Lilinoe Paschoal dished out 29 assists and added eight digs, three aces and a block.

The Warriors fell to 1-1.

At Pukalani, Lahainaluna (1-1) earned its first win of the season with a 25-16, 25-22, 25-21 victory over two-time defending MIL champion King Kekaulike (0-1).
