Lunas advance to MIL semifinals with sweep of Na Alii

The Maui News

Kalolaine Pasikala and Hailey Killett each had seven kills to lead the Lahainaluna High School girls volleyball team to a 25-16, 25-10, 25-20 win over King Kekaulike in the first round of the Maui Interscholastic League Division I tournament on Monday night at the Lunas’ gym.

Pasikala also had nine aces, and Angel Camagay added two kills as the fourth-seeded Lunas (6-7) eliminated fifth-seeded Na Alii (1-12).

With the win, Lahainaluna advanced to a semifinal against top-seeded Baldwin today at Kamehameha Maui. In the late semifinal, the host Warriors — the No. 2 seed — take on No. 3 Maui High. If the Bears win the first semifinal, the Warriors would clinch a state tournament berth by beating the Sabers.
