Bears seeded No. 3, Warriors to face Mililani in state tourney

Maui Interscholastic League champion Baldwin High School is the No. 3 seed for next week’s New City Nissan Girls Volleyball Division I State Championship.

The Hawaii High School Athletic Association released the D-I bracket late Thursday night.

The Bears (14-0), making their first state tournament appearance since 2011, is set to face the winner of Monday’s Kamehameha Kapalama-Kapolei match on Thursday at McKinley in the quarterfinals.

In the first round Monday, MIL runner-up Kamehameha Maui will host Mililani at 4:30 p.m. The Warriors are making their 18th straight state appearance.

The Division II bracket will be released this weekend after the completion of league playoffs.

Kapolei at Kamehameha Kapalama, 5 p.m.
