Aloha Volleyball tryouts set for Sunday

Aloha Volleyball is hosting indoor volleyball tryouts on Sunday for kids ages 9-17 at Seabury Hall.

Junior golfer Chee makes hole-in-one

Jolie Chee of Honolulu made a hole-in-one on Sunday while competing in the HSJGA Michelle Wie Tournament of Champions at the Wailea Emerald Course.

Chee, who finished sixth in the girls 15-18 division, aced the No. 16 hole from 142 yards using a 7-iron. Kara Kaneshiro and Tara Matsueda witnessed the shot.


Choe of Wailuku has hole-in-one at Waiehu

Lily Choe of Wailuku made a hole-in-one on Nov. 28 at Waiehu Municipal Golf Course.

Choe used a 7-wood to ace the No. 2 hole from 113 yards. Witnesses were David Anzai, Kimo Apana and Mark Kubota.


Burch of Wisconsin has ace at Wailea

AJ Burch of Monona, Wis., made a hole-in-one on Nov. 17 at the Wailea Emerald Course.

Burch used an 8-iron to ace the 95-yard 13th hole. Complete names of witnesses were not available.


Takaki of Wailuku aces No. 2 at Waiehu

Vince Takaki of Wailuku recorded a hole-in-one on Nov. 26 at Waiehu Municipal Golf Course.

Takaki aced the second hole from 139 yards using a 7-hybrid. Gary Hashizaki, Fred Chung and Tommy Slighter witnessed the ace.


Suda of Kahului sinks hole-in-one at Waiehu

Neal Suda of Kahului made a hole-in-one at Waiehu Municipal Golf Course on Nov. 15.

Using a 2-iron, Suda aced the No. 5 hole from 234 yards. Witnesses were Richard Bolduc, Thomas Churchill and Dennison Doi.
