Spartans, Pine Lasses set up winner-take-all MIL D-II final

The top two seeds in the Maui Interscholastic League Division II girls ranks — Seabury Hall and Lanai High School — will play tonight for the league’s single berth to the Heide & Cook/HHSAA state tournament, which is set for next week.
Lanai (7-2) defeated Hana 73-40 behind Souina Seiuli’s 26 points on Thursday night in the first semifinal of the MIL D-II tournament at Hana. Venezia Jackson added 15 points for the Pine Lasses, while Haley Ostrander had 10.
Tyra-Li Perry had 22 points for the Dragons and five 3-pointers. Anela Kalalau added nine points.
In the second semifinal, Seabury Hall (7-2) beat Molokai 47-15. Pi’o Tu’ivai had 15 points for the Spartans, while Brittlay Carillo had 10.
Lia-Chae Meyer had nine points for the Farmers.
The Pine Lasses and Spartans split four meetings this season.

Molokai (2-5) and Hana (0-7) will play in a third-place game prior to the final.
• MAUI HIGH BOYS 68, KING KEKAULIKE 55: In the first-round game of the MIL Division I boys tournament, Maui High eliminated King Kekaulike with a 68-55 win at the Shine Matsui Athletic Center in Kahului.
The win earns the Sabers a semifinal berth against top-seeded Baldwin on Monday at King Kekaulike Gym.
Fidel Ortiz led Maui High (3-6) with 16 points, while Justin Tolentino added 12.
Jordan Babcock led Na Alii (0-9) with 18 points, while Colton Baldwin added 17.
