Rock into 2015 at Mala Wailea, MiGRANT benefit

Once again, it will be an all-star lineup at Mala Wailea and its sister restaurant MiGRANT for a New Year’s Eve to remember.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a lavish, all-you-can-eat buffet by Sheldon Simeon, a “Top Chef” finalist on the Bravo Channel as well as Food & Wine magazine’s 2014 People’s “Best New Chef for the Pacific Northwest.”

“The only thing that’s gonna be rocking out more than Alice Cooper, Steven Tyler and the Offspring this New Year’s Eve is the kickin’ buffet feast that we’re cookin’ up,” explains Simeon, who wowed the crowd at last year’s gala.

See and be seen at the benefit for Maui Food Bank and Maui Arts & Cultural Center as you dine on fresh- out-of-the-garden Kumu Farms organic greens with crudites and garnishes along with Waipoli hydroponic baby Romaine with Caesar dressings; quinoa salad; fresh fruits; assorted cheeses; and freshly baked breads with flavored butters.

The cold seafood and poke bar will display ahi, tako and shrimp poke, snow crab, peel-and-eat shrimp and cured salmon.

Simeon will hand carve prime rib of beef and roasted leg of lamb. Other hot items will include sweet Maui onion soup, southern fried chicken wings, roast pork loin with mushroom Marsala, and potato-crusted mahimahi with herb pesto cream.

Other performers in the all-star lineup include Bob Rock, Weird Al Yankovic, Pat Simmons and Michael McDonalad. Returning emcee is comedian and actor Tom Arnold. Expect surprise guests.

Cost of dinner and show is $550 per person; show and wine only is $450. For tickets, you may email nyemala2013@gmail.com, or call Mala Wailea at 875-9394.

Starting at $4.62/week.
