Flash flood watch posted for entire state through Monday afternoon
The National Weather Service early this morning placed all Hawaiian Islands under a flash flood watch and continued a high-surf advisory for certain portions of Maui and Molokai.
The flash flood watch was posted at 3:07 a.m. Sunday until Monday afternoon as unstable weather conditions across the state will bring the possibility for periods of heavy rainfall and flash flooding.
A trough of low pressure will linger across the island chain today through tomorrow, while an upper level low moves overhead, which is contributing to the unstable weather, according to NWS.
The weather service cautioned people against crossing fast-moving water on foot or via vehicle, as flash flooding may be life threatening.
