28 new COVID-19 cases on Lanai; one on Maui
There are 28 new COVID-19 cases on Lanai and one new case on Maui, the state Department of Health reported as of noon today.
This brings Lanai’s confirmed case total to 49, the Health Department said.
Overall there are 131 new cases in the state. That also includes 34 on Hawaii island and 67 on Oahu and one Hawaii resident diagnosed out of state. The cumulative total for the state is now 14,464.
There were also three new COVID-19 related deaths.
Maui County Mayor Michael Victorino was traveling to Lanai today to assess the situation there.
A virtual community meeting will be held at 6 p.m. today, with the Hawaii National Guard planning to present COVID-19 health-related information for the Lanai community.
