Igiede leads UH sweep of UCI

Amber Igiede had a career-high 17 kills and five blocks to lead the University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team to a sweep of UC Irvine on Friday night in Honolulu.

Igiede had no errors in 27 attempts to hit .630 and also had an ace as the Rainbow Wahine won 25-18, 25-15, 25-21. Riley Wagoner added 11 kills, Brooke Van Sickle had eight kills, 17 digs, four blocks and three aces, and Skylar Williams also had eight kills.

Kate Lang dished out 39 assists as UH (17-6, 14-1 Big West Conference) hit .340 compared to .167 for the Anteaters.

Onye Ofoegbu led UC Irvine (14-11, 7-8) with 12 kills.

The Rainbow Wahine next host UC San Diego on Sunday.
