Rainbow Wahine outscored 31-17 in fourth, fall to Pilots

Despite a career-high 30 points from Amy Atwell, the University of Hawaii women’s basketball team dropped to 0-3 after a 91-77 loss to Portland on Friday night in the Bank of Hawaii Classic in Honolulu.

The game was tied at 60 going in the fourth quarter before the Pilots (2-1) used a 10-2 run in the first three minutes of the final period to pull away, and the Rainbow Wahine couldn’t keep pace.

Olivia Davies added 13 points for UH, which next plays Portland State on Sunday.

Alex Fowler scored 20 points to lead Portland, which made 9 of 12 shots from the floor and 11 of 17 free throws in the fourth.
