Wie trails by one shot after first round of Founders Cup

PHOENIX (AP) — Michelle Wie of Honolulu shot 7-under-par 65 on Thursday in the first round of the Founders Cup, leaving her one shot behind the five players sharing the lead.
Wie had an eagle and seven birdies, but bogeyed two of her final four holes at Wildfire Golf Club.
Stacy Lewis was 9 under through 11 holes on the way to a 64, and was tied with Ariya Jutanugarn, In Gee Chun, Katie Burnett and Sandra Changkija.
Sherman Santiwiwatthanaphong, Juli Inkster, Jane Park and Vicky Hurst joined Wie at 7 under.
Wie is coming off a fourth-place tie at the HSBC Women’s Champions two weeks ago in Singapore. She had led by two shots during the final round.
“I learned a lot from it, and hopefully will use that experience here and in the upcoming events,” she said Thursday in an interview posted on the LPGA Tour website.
