Granato leads Rainbow Wahine to sweep of Aggies

McKenna Granato had 16 kills and 13 digs, and the University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team defeated UC Davis 26-24, 25-17, 25-20 on Saturday night at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu.
Emily Maglio added 12 kills and Casey Castillo had 10 as the Rainbow Wahine (8-5) improved to 2-0 in Big West Conference play.
The first set was close throughout, and UH closed it out in extra time on a kill from Granato. UC Davis responded by taking an early 5-1 lead in the second before the Rainbow Wahine rallied and pulled away. In the third, the Aggies fought off five match points before a Maglio kill ended it.
Mahalia White led UC Davis (8-7, 0-2 Big West) with nine kills.
UH next plays at Cal State Fullerton on Friday.
