Hawaii falls to Cal Poly in five sets

The University of Hawaii women’s volleyball team squandered a two-set lead and suffered its first conference loss of the season Saturday, falling 16-25, 22-25, 25-15, 25-22, 15-9 to Cal Poly at the Stan Sheriff Center in Honolulu in a matchup for the outright lead in the Big West standings.

McKenna Granato had 20 kills for the Rainbow Wahine (11-6, 5-1 Big West), who had won nine matches in a row.

The Mustangs (16-2, 6-0) got 25 kills from Torrey Van Winden en route to their 11th consecutive victory.

Hawaii will next play on Friday, on the road against Long Beach State.
