Agricultural water plan hearings are scheduled for next month

The Commission on Water Resource Management will be holding public hearings online on Nov. 18 and 19 to solicit input on the update to the statewide Agricultural Water Use and Development Plan, a long-range management plan that assesses state and private agricultural water use, supply and irrigation systems.
The proposal was prepared by the state Department of Agriculture. It can be viewed online at https://dlnr.hawaii.gov /cwrm/planning/hiwaterplan/ awudp/.
The Nov. 18 meeting begins at 9 a.m. and the Nov. 19 meeting at 6 p.m.
The hearings officer, presenters and testifiers will be participating online. Those wishing to provide live oral/video testimony during the online meeting should email the commission at email@example.com no later than 48 hours in advance with a name, phone number, email address and computer identification name (check device settings). Commission staff will then provide the meeting link information.
The commission will continue to accept written testimony until Dec. 18. Testimony should be mailed to the Commission on Water Resource Management, state Department of Land and Natural Resources, P.O. Box 621, Honolulu 96809; emailed to firstname.lastname@example.org or faxed to (808) 587-0219.
