Registration open for youth theater summer camps

Registration is now open for the Maui OnStage Youth Theater summer camp and youth production of “DreamWorks’ Madagascar: A Musical Adventure JR.,” directed by Dejah Padon, choreographed by Nicole Heinlein and under the musical direction of Kim Vetterli.

The Maui OnStage camp is limited to 30 students ages 7 to 15 who want to experience rehearsals, workshops and a fun learning experience with professional teachers and directors. Tuition is $650 per student. Sibling discounts, scholarships and payment plans are available. The camp will take place 1 to 5 p.m. weekdays, June 8 through July 17 at the Maui OFFStage Studio at 811 Kolu St., Wailuku with performances of “Madagascar” July 18 through 26 at the Historic Iao Theater. Registration is now open for the Maui Academy of Performing Arts summer camp and youth production of “Disney Moana JR.,” directed by Hoku Pavao, associate director Logan Jacob Heller, choreographed by Kathleen Schulz and under the musical direction of Danielle Delaunay.

Students ages 9 to 18 will train in theater conservatory workshops in the mornings and rehearse in the afternoon.

The camp runs from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays June 8 through July 16 at the MAPA studios in Wailuku with performances of “Moana JR.” July 17 through 26. Tuition is $895 per child with payment plans and partial needs-based scholarships for qualifying families available.
