• The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, named Robert Blackborough as food and beverage executive assistant manager and Philip Hoy as rooms division executive assistant manager, according to a Feb. 24 news release.
Blackborough, who has more than three decades of culinary and management experience, will oversee all food and beverage operations for the resort. He joins the Kapalua resort after serving as the general manager for W Hotel Chang’an Beijing and hotel manager at The Portman Ritz-Carlton, Shanghai, China.
Previously employed at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua, Hoy is returning to lead all rooms operations at the hotel. He spent the last several years working in managerial roles for four-star luxury retreat Blackberry Farm in Tennessee. Hoy has worked at various Ritz-Carlton locations; while at the Kapalua location, he was promoted to director of housekeeping and laundry.
• Bank of Hawaii announced that Christopher Martelles was the top residential loan producer for Maui in January. Martelles, residential loan officer at Maui Loan Center, produced $4 million or more in residential loans last month, according to the Feb. 18 news release.
