Kihei Kalama Village giveaway
As more businesses reopen in Kihei Kalama Village, the shopping center is launching a “Kau Kau 2 Go” social media giveaway for restaurant customers.
The shopping center is giving away $200 in gift cards to a randomly chosen social media giveaway participant every week. Customers can enter the giveaway by posting a photo of their takeout or dining meal with the receipt in it to Facebook or Instagram with the hashtag #KKVKauKau.
At the end of the giveaway period, Kihei Kalama Village will match the prize winnings with a donation to the Maui Food Bank, according to a June 15 news release.

Spectrum Store opens in Kahului
Maui now has a Spectrum Store in Kahului that can assist customers with adding or managing their Spectrum internet, TV, mobile or voice services.
The new Maui store is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays and noon to 5 p.m. Sundays. It’s located at 58 Ho’okele St., Suite 530, according to a news release Wednesday.
Social distancing is required in the store, with occupancy of the store managed by employees. Spectrum stores are cleaned and disinfected regularly, with frequent cleaning of high-touch areas and hand sanitizer available throughout the store.
The new Spectrum stores offer the latest devices and accessories compatible with Spectrum Mobile, a news release said.
Along with sampling and ordering Spectrum services, customers also can complete a variety of transactions at the store, including account payments and upgrading or exchanging equipment. Spectrum has opened six new stores in Hawaii in the past two years.

Pulama Lanai honors health care workers
Pulama Lanai is honoring hospital workers across the state for being on the front lines of the pandemic by gifting them with complimentary wellness retreats to Sensei Lanai, A Four Seasons Resort.
Each hospital will receive a select number of all-inclusive “Heroes Relaxation Retreat” packages based on the hospital’s bed count, with the facilities selecting their employees, according to a news release Tuesday.
The heroes and their guests will be treated to a two-night stay at Sensei Lanai. It also includes round-trip airfare from Honolulu to Lanai on luxury charter service Lanai Air, upscale accommodations, dining, wellness activities and island excursions for two guests.
“This pandemic has shone a spotlight on our hospital heroes and the tremendous dedication they show to their patients every single day,” said Kurt Matsumoto, chief operating officer of Pulama Lanai. “Their commitment to providing high-quality care to those in our community during this challenging time is an inspiration to us all.”

Maui Brewing Co. announces hours
Maui Brewing Co. has announced new hours for its Lahaina and Kihei restaurants.
The Kihei location, which reopened Wednesday, will offer dine-in counter service from 3:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. Wednesday through Sunday. With counter service, guests can order with the bartender and find a seat to wait until their order is brought to them. Takeout and curbside pickup are also available. The restaurant accepts to-go orders through an online ordering platform at mbckiheitogo.square.site/.
Hours for the Lahaina location, which reopened June 1, are noon to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday. The restaurant offers dine-in and takeout as well as delivery options from Kaanapali to Kapalua.
The company has taken steps to improve safety, including taking employees’ temperatures, placing tables six feet apart, requiring masks for staff and guests until seated at a table, installing plexiglass shields at ordering stations, increasing cleaning times and offering plenty of outside seating. Touch points for guests have also been minimized, including no-contact menu options and cashless transactions, which are preferred.
The company also hopes to reopen its Kailua and Waikiki locations in July and August, respectively.

Fork & Salad Kihei to reopen June 24
Fork & Salad Kihei will reopen June 24 after closing mid-March due to the pandemic, the company announced Friday.
The farm-to-table, fast-casual eatery is located in the Azeka Mauka Shopping Center.
Fork & Salad in Kahului has been open since May 4. Both locations offer takeout and socially distanced dine-in service from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., featuring signature salads, sandwiches, wraps, add-on proteins, build-your-own options, soup, beverages, retail dressings and a new local produce grocery store.
Changes to the menu at both locations include fresh new signature items, including a Papaya Dream Salad and Buddha Grain Bowl. Edamame, mandarin oranges and sunflower seeds are also being added to the cold line, as well as another housemade dressing sourced from Maui-grown papaya. The dressings are also available in 14-ounce mason jars as part of Fork & Salad’s grocery service.
Employees must undergo temperature checks at the start of every shift and wear masks and gloves. Guests must also wear face coverings. Tables and lines remain six feet apart.
Customers can also use the restaurant’s free mobile app to order in advance. Fork & Salad is offering 25 percent off all orders placed on the app and website for a limited time. Customers can type in promo code “FORKYEAH” on the virtual checkout page.
