Exhibition commemorates Fair’s 40-year career on Maui

Deybra Fair’s artworks will be appearing in a retrospective exhibition from March 13 to May 8 at Hui No‘eau Visual Arts Center in Makawao.

Hui No’eau Visual Arts Center in Makawao will present a retrospective exhibition, “Deybra Fair — Trinkets, Tokens & Treasures of a Charmed Life,” March 13 through May 8.

The Retrospective Series was designed to acknowledge the contributions of individuals, who have made a profound influence on local art and to share their work and ideas with the community. Fair’s exhibition is a collection of assemblages, installations and mixed medium works commemorating her 40-year art career on Maui.

Fair began teaching children’s classes at the Hui when she arrived on Maui in 1980. Since then, her work has been featured in galleries in across the U.S., Japan and Australia. She has exhibited and won awards in multiple juried shows, as well as been granted a large-scale commission at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center.

As an avid collector of found objects, Fair’s dimensional memoir invites the viewer to take a journey into her treasure trove of trinkets.

Exhibition hours are 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. with free admission. For more information, visit huinoeau.com.

Starting at $4.62/week.
