Ocean center running Maui 5K benefit March 1

The Maui Ocean Center will be running the ninth annual Maui 5K on March 1, a fun and healthy fundraiser for fitness programs in Maui County schools. The event is part of the Maalaea aquarium’s Kuilima program, which gives back to local nonprofit organizations, schools and other community organizations. The run, in partnership with the nonprofit Run for Fitness, is open to parents, students, athletes and nonathletes. (AP) — A New Mexico proposal seeks to draw tourists to a historic Hispanic and Native American trail that once linked early Spanish settlers from Mexico City to an area just north of Santa Fe.
