Radio station airing Christmas music 24/7

Maui Radio Station KEWE “The Spirit” at 97.9 FM and simulcast at 1240 AM is broadcasting Christmas music 24 hours a day between now and Dec. 25. Hosts Ron Middag and Kathy Collins are playing both contemporary and traditional seasonal music from a vast library of nearly 1,000 songs. Live concerts will be aired from the Mormon Tabernacle Choir, as well as local Hawaii musicians and Maui churches.

Makawao museum opens a branding iron exhibit

Makawao History Museum has opened “Maui Branding Irons,” its newest exhibit that highlights the history of branding irons and their unique designs. The exhibit inlcudes the physical irons themselves, as well as their demonstrated use on a hide. Museum hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturdays, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sundays.
