The holidays bring with them family, friends and lots of delicious foods. What we don’t want it to bring is a food-borne illnesses. While many food-related illnesses pass within a couple days, it can be a different story for older adults, young children, pregnant or nursing women, and anyone with a weakened immune system. The Schaefer International Gallery at the Maui Arts & Cultural Center’s Uniques Gallery Gift Shop will open up Sunday instead of today due to logistical issues. The gift shop will be open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesday to Sunday through Dec. 20. There will be artworks from Hawaii artisans and vendors including jewelry, linens, furniture, stocking stuffers, honey, jams and sweets. The shop will also be open before Castle Theater shows and during intermissions. It will be closed Thanksgiving Day and Dec. 7. Admission is free.
