Mae Mieko Kitaoka, 69, of Makawao, passed away on August 30, 2020 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. She was born on May 13, 1951 in Wahiawa, Hawaii. Mae is survived by her husband, Rodney Kitaoka; daughters, Alyson Kitaoka, Jill (Steven) Ly; sisters, Jessie Cummings, Gail (Gary) Takahashi and Amy Yoshihara. She is predeceased by her parents, Fred and Shizuko Yoshihara; and son, Casey Kitaoka. William Kalani Aki, 89

William Kalani Aki, 89 of Pukalani, passed away on August 31, 2020 at home. He was born on November 12, 1930 in Hoolehua, Molokai. William was a tour bus driver for Grayline Hawaii. He was also an accomplished musician. William is survived by his children, William C. Aki, Mary Ann Gray, Laurie Ann Tomas, and Ambernette-Rose Aki; 7 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren. Melvin S. Honda, of Wailuku, Maui, passed away at his residence on August 24, 2020. He was born in Wailuku on April 1, 1939. Mel Graduated from Baldwin High School and Maui Technical School. He was an auto body repairman for many years then worked at the Renaissance Hotel until he retired. He was an avid diver for fish and tako which he shared with his friends and family, enjoyed bird hunting with his friends, and the occasional trips to Las Vegas and visiting with his sister in California. Betty Ann (Sheean) O’Connell, 91 years old, of Pleasant Hill, California, passed away August 29, 2020. Born October 6, 1928, in San Francisco, California, to William and Lillian (McKinnon) Sheean. She graduated from Ėcole Notre Dame Des Victoires (high school) and Lone Mountain College (now part of the University of San Francisco).
