Setsuko Hironaka Asato, 91 of Pukalani, passed away on September 17, 2019 at Islands Hospice in Kahului. She was born in Haiku on August 3, 1928. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday October 26, 2019, at Makawao Hongwanji Mission, service over urn will begin at 11 a.m. Setsuko was a school teacher at Haiku Elementary School. Gerald Shim, 71, of Lahaina, passed away on October 6, 2019 at Maui Memorial Medical Center. He was born on May 9, 1948 in Honolulu to the late Henry Hen Lee and Mary Haili and raised in Lahaina. Gerald, who retired from Construction, loved the Lord first and shared God’s word with others.
