Reuel “Billy” Munar, 73, of Kahului, Hawaii, passed away at Maui Health System (Maui Memorial Medical Center) on September 30, 2017. He was born on June 15, 1944 in Damortis, La Union, Philippines. Came to the United States in 1968. He joined the United States Army in his late 20’s. Celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, October 10, 2017, 9:30am at Christ the King Church; with Mass at 10:30am; followed by a luncheon at the Christ the King Hall. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Maria Lanakila Church in Lahaina, mass will begin at 11 a.m. and burial will follow at 1 p.m. at Valley Isle Memorial Park in Haiku. Stanley Sadakatsu Sakata, 78 of Pukalani passed away at his home on September 7, 2017 He was born in Hailiimaile, Maui to Katsumi and Sadami Sakata. Stanley was a graduate of Maui High School and Los Angeles State College. He worked in the civil engineering department of the California State Lands Commission, then later moved to the California Division of Highways until his retirement in 2004.
