Elaine Shizuko Mori, 89, passed away on March 18, 2025 at Hale Makua in Kahului. She was born in Kumamoto, Japan on June 9, 1935. Private family services were held. Elaine retired as Kitchen Manager from Shirokiya Maui. She is survived by sons, Stanley and Russell Mori; daughters, Eileen (Matthew) Mishina, Linda (Daniel) Ling; brothers, Itaru (Yasue) Nakano, Kenji and Toshinobu Nakano; sisters, Minako Mori, Kiyomi (Masaru) Fukuyama and Michiko (Masahiro) Miyazaki; grandchildren, Trevor (Brandi), Corey, Chase & Riley; great grandchild Kolten.

Born on September 13, 1930, in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, to Stanley and Harriet Giltner, Joan was raised in Linden, New Jersey, alongside her beloved sister Ruth (predeceased). After graduating from Linden High School in 1948, she went to work for Prudential Insurance in Newark, New Jersey, and later worked as a key punch operator for the Standard Oil Company. She is survived by her sister, Violet (Robert) Nago; her children, Jon (Lorna) Saito, Laura (Gary) Kawahara, Melissa and Meredith Saito; her grandchildren, Vanessa (Rico) Franco, Davina Baker, Cody Saito, and Tori Kawahara.
