Francisco (Frank) Purugganan, 88, of Wailuku, Maui, passed away on March 31, 2025. He was born on July 2, 1936 in Wailuku. Visitation will be held from 8:30am-10am on Tuesday, May 6, 2025, at the Church of Jesus Christ of Lattter-day Saints, 125 West Kamehameha Avenue Kahului; services will begin at 10am; burial will follow, 1pm at the Maui Veteran’s Cemetery in Makawao. Joan Evelyn Epler, of Kihei, Maui, passed away peacefully at home on April 10, 2025, at the age of 94. Born on September 13, 1930, in Coaldale, Pennsylvania, to Stanley and Harriet Giltner, Joan was raised in Linden, New Jersey, alongside her beloved sister Ruth (predeceased). After graduating from Linden High School in 1948, she went to work for Prudential Insurance in Newark, New Jersey, and later worked as a key punch operator for the Standard Oil Company. Fusae Saito, 94, of Kahului, passed away peacefully at home on April 5, 2025. She is survived by her sister, Violet (Robert) Nago; her children, Jon (Lorna) Saito, Laura (Gary) Kawahara, Melissa and Meredith Saito; her grandchildren, Vanessa (Rico) Franco, Davina Baker, Cody Saito, and Tori Kawahara.
