The Kamehameha Schools Maui Parent Teacher Student 'Ohana awarded nine 2016 KS Maui 'A'apueo Scholarships of $1,000 to KSM alumni funded by proceeds of the annual Ho'olaule'a.
The scholarships are administered by the Ke Ali'i Pauahi Foundation, a nonprofit support organization of Kamehameha Schools whose purpose is to generate new sources of income to support Kamehameha's educational mission.
The scholarship recipients are:
• Carli Owan, KSM '08, attends the University of Hawaii at Hilo as a second-year graduate student pursuing a doctorate of pharmacology.
• Alana Song, KSM '11, attends the University of Hawaii at Manoa as a second-year graduate student and is pursuing a dual degree in law and business.
• Alexander Guerrero, KSM '12, is a first-year graduate student attending the University of Hawaii at Hilo majoring in Hawaiian language and literature.
• Kaili Mossman, KSM '13, is a fourth-year undergraduate attending Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah, and is pursuing an arts degree specializing in animation.
• Tiana Guerrero, KSM '14, attends the University of Hawaii at Manoa as a third-year undergraduate and is pursuing a degree in elementary education.
• Chase Nakagawa, KSM '15, is a sophomore attending the University of Portland and is pursuing a degree in mechanical engineering.
• Mical Ventura-Estrella, KSM '15, is a sophomore attending Pacific University and is pursuing a degree in social work.
• Chrystal Cardoza, KSM '16, is a freshman attending Biola University and is pursuing a degree in veterinary medicine.
• Tyler Lum, KSM '16, is a freshman attending Utah Valley University and is pursuing a degree in computer engineering.
