Game time at Wo Hing Museum

Sohny Strong (right) provides instruction to Linda Moffat (left) and Connie Sutherland (center) during recent mahjong games at Wo Hing Museum in Lahaina. Mahjong games and instruction are being held at the museum and cookhouse on Front Street every second and fourth Tuesday of the month from 10 a.m. to noon. Participation is free. Experienced and beginner players are welcome. Game sets will be provided. Mahjong is an ancient Chinese game believed to have been developed during the Qing Dynasty (1644 to 1912). It is a popular game that today is often played on a computer. Games at the Wo Hing Museum are played with traditional tiles under the shade of the starfruit tree.
