The Maui Okinawa Kenjin Kai announced that they have recently awarded two $1,000 scholarships.
The recipients are Sarah Fusato of King Kekaulike High School and Jayda Cortez of Baldwin High School.
Fusato is the daughter of Dr. Ryan and Kara Fusato. She will be attending the University of Hawaii at Manoa as a Regents Scholar with plans to enroll in the Shindler College of Business.
Cortez is the daughter of Joel and Danise Cortez. She will be attending Chapman University as a Presidential Scholar with plans to study health sciences.
Maui Okinawa Kenjin Kai is a nonprofit organization committed to perpetuating the Okinawan heritage, culture, and arts.
