Maui Economic Opportunity Executive Assistant Lee Imada has been named to the new class of Hawaii Public Radio's Community Advisory Board.
The advisory panel's responsibilities include being the eyes and ears in the community for Hawaii Public Radio and to provide feedback on the station's programming goals, services, policy decisions and outreach opportunities.
The 10-member board also serves in an advisory capacity for the HPR board of directors.
Members were selected from more than 140 nominations, making it the most competitive selection process to date, the radio station said. Each member will serve a two-year term.
Imada was the only Maui member selected for the Class of 2023.
A resident of Waikapu and born and raised on Maui, Imada joined MEO in January after a nearly 40-year career as a reporter and editor at The Maui News.
Anyone interested in providing their thoughts on HPR and its programming and operations can contact Imada by phone at (808) 243-4306 or email lee.imada@meoinc.org.
He will deliver comments and opinions to the advisory board.
