Maui United Way recently updated its office manager position to a director of operations, with Sherry Yamashita filling the new role.
Yamashita has been the organization’s office manager for more than two years. In that time, she has taken on additional duties and responsibilities, which warranted the position update.
Yamashita manages Maui United Way’s fiscal sponsorships program, which includes the COVID Rental and Utility Assistance Program, Hawaiian Electric’s Utility Assistance Program, Charles & Mitch Ota Foundation-Avid Program for King Kekaulike High School and Lokelani Intermediate School and the Fred Baldwin Memorial Foundation-Choose Love Expansion and Modeling Project. She has also managed the Kaukau 4 Keiki program and is currently working with Common Ground Collective to distribute food to people in need.
“We’re excited to announce this new position within your Maui United Way and look forward to seeing Sherry continue to grow the positive impacts we’re having in the community,” said Maui United Way President and Chief Professional Officer Nicholas Winfrey.
