The Maui Hotel & Lodging Association recently delivered $2,500 worth of hygiene products to the Maui District Health Office in response to the office's donation request for homeless outreach efforts.

The donated items included feminine hygiene products, individual-use bacitracin, hydrogen peroxide, disinfectant wipes, Band-Aids, razors, deodorant, bars of soap, laundry detergent, sunscreen, Chapstick, toothpaste, dental floss and can openers.

"The Maui District Health Office thanks MHLA and all our community partners for standing in the gap with us, whether it be by service or donation," said Maui District Health Office Infection Preventionist Sherrie McKeown. "Together we build a better tomorrow for all who call Maui County home."

Other needed items include pillows, washcloths, water bottles, brushes, flushable baby wipes, nail clippers, nonperishable snacks, socks, lotion, hair ties, rain ponchos, flashlights, backpacks and rubber slippers. For more information or to donate, contact Stephanie Kaplan at (808) 283-2086 or McKeown at (808) 984-8213 or sherrie.mckeown@doh.hawaii.gov.
