Rotary club to induct new member

The Rotary Club of Kahului will induct its newest Rotarian, Jeff Gishkin of DEHP Integrated Care/Island Health, at noon on Monday at Bistro Casanova in Kahului.

Lunch is $25 per person.

Gishkin has more than 30 years of experience in mental health and substance use counseling and program supervision and agency administration.

Kuikawa to perform concert in Lahaina

Hawaiian music group Kuikawa will perform a free concert at 6 p.m. on Thursday, on the front lawn of the Baldwin Home Museum in Lahaina.

Kuikawa is a Hawaiian trio comprised of Joshua Kulhavy-Sutherland, James "Koakane" Mattos and Lukela Kanae.

Seating will be on the lawn and the low rock wall. Limited chairs will be available. Attendees can bring their own blankets, mats or low-back beach chairs.

The concert is part of the Lahaina Restoration Foundation's Hawaiian Music Series.

Brewpub fundraiser to benefit nonprofit

Maui Brewing Company Brewpub in Lahaina will host "Pint Night for Haku Baldwin Center" from 6 to 10 p.m. Friday.

Half of the profits from all house beers sold will benefit the Haku Baldwin Center, which provides equine-focused programs for military veterans and youth on Maui.

Maui Brewing Company is located in the Kahana Gateway Shopping Center at 4405 Honoapiilani Highway in Lahaina.

Jazz and blues event to be held in Kula

A free jazz and blues festival will be held from 1:30 to 7 p.m. on July 30 at the Ocean Vodka Organic Farm in Kula.

There will be performances by Benny Uyetake, Mark Johnstone, Lenny Castellanos, John Zangrando, Dr. Nat, Dr. Joie Taylor, Reese Tanaka and Zenshin Daiko Drummers, along with special guests.

Rotarians to host food center director

Maui Food Innovation Center Director Karen Hanada will be the guest speaker at the Rotary Club of Lahaina Sunset's meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 1, at the Royal Lahaina Resort's Royal Ocean Terrace Restaurant.

Hanada's presentation is titled "Cultivating Maui County's Food Innovation Future -- Supporting Locally Made, Value-Added Food Products and Sustainable Agriculture."

Chocolate tasting to benefit birds

Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project will be the beneficiary of a guided nine-piece chocolate tasting event at the Maui Kuia Estate Chocolate Factory at 11 a.m. on Aug. 6.

All proceeds from ticket sales will go to the Maui Forest Bird Recovery Project.

The chocolate factory is located at 78 Ulupono St. in Lahaina.
