Maui County Office of Council Services Director David Raatz has joined Maui Economic Opportunity's board of directors, representing the Maui County Council.
The 21-member board consists of representatives of government, businesses and the community. The board sets policy for the nonprofit agency and hires and evaluates the CEO.
Prior to becoming director of the Office of Council Services, Raatz served as its deputy director. His resume also includes working as a county administrative planning officer, Maui Economic Development Board program manager and county legislative attorney. In addition, he has taught business law and newswriting at UH-Maui College and legal writing at the UH William S. Richardson School of Law.
Raatz received his law degree from Loyola Law School and his undergraduate degree from the University of Southern California.
