Candlelight ceremony to be held April 30
The Maui County Veterans Council will host the 10th annual Vietnam Veterans Memorial Candlelight Ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on April 30 on the lawn fronting the Kalana O Maui building.
The ceremony will honor Maui County veterans who served in the Vietnam War.
The Kalana O Maui building is located at 200 High St. in Wailuku.

'He-Man Competition' set for Saturday
The 31st Annual He-Man Competition will be held from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. this Saturday at the Slim's Power Tools store in Kahului.
Modeled after lumberjack competitions, the He-Man Competition includes challenges like "Drill Da Bit," "Cut Da Wood" and "Unscrew Da Screw."
"The competition tests speed, skill and accuracy, showcasing the convenience and efficiency of using power tools," said He-Man Competition Coordinator Rand Okemura.

Maui Strong group to meet Wednesday
National Alliance on Mental Illness Hawaii and Mental Health America of Hawaii will host a Maui Strong support group meeting from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 24, at the Maui Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic in Lahaina.
There is no cost to attend and water and snacks will be provided.
The Maui Certified Community Behavioral Health Clinic is located at 1830 Honoapiilani Hwy., just below the Lahaina Civic Center.

Maui Waena showcase event set for May 9
Maui Waena Intermediate School will host its Showcase Night event from 5 to 7 p.m. on May 9.
The event will showcase student work, music and cultural dances.
