Applications sought to fill vacancy

The Judicial Selection Commission is accepting applications and nominations to fill a vacancy for 2nd Circuit Family Court judge.

The application deadline is Oct. 19 for the six-year term to fill the vacancy left by Judge Keith Tanaka’s retirement.

Applicants must be U.S. citizens and Hawaii residents who have been licensed to practice law in the state for at least five years before being nominated.

The annual salary is $189,480.

Nominations of qualified people for the judgeship are due no later than Tuesday. Nominations should include the nominee’s full name and mailing address and should be sent to Commission Chair Jackie Young, PhD; Judicial Selection Commission; 417 S. King St.; Honolulu 96813.
