The Monsanto Fund has announced that applications for its 2017 FIRST Robotics Grant program in Hawaii are now available.
This is a nationwide grant program designed to inspire and nurture students' interest in science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) in communities where Monsanto employees live and work.
Established in 2015, the Monsanto Fund's FIRST Robotics Grant program has awarded more than $65,000 over two years to eligible teams in Hawaii, benefitting students in elementary through high school grade levels.
The grant is available to both first-year and veteran teams competing in FIRST Robotics Competitions, FIRST Tech Challenge tournaments, FIRST Lego League and Jr. FIRST Lego League team challenges for kindergarten through 12th-grade students.
The deadline for applications is 6:59 p.m. Sept. 15. Teams must be located within 30 miles of a Monsanto site to be eligible for the grant program.
