Kihei Charter School has opened up a limited number of slots for the current school year and is accepting applications for new or transfer students.
The move comes as school officials prepare for the on-schedule opening of its new facilities in August for the 2018-2019 school year.
Kihei Charter School, which accepts students in kindergarten through 12th grade from all parts of Maui, is a public school and does not charge tuition. The school is fully accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges.
The open student slots are in various grades, according to an announcement from the school. Applications are available at kiheicharter.org or by calling 875-0700.
Once an application is received, it will go to student records to see what space is available. Parents will either be informed that a student is accepted and will be sent enrollment packs or they will be given a wait-list number, according to the announcement.
