Hakipu'u Learning Center members Chris Nakahashi (from right) and Calvin Hoe of Oahu jam with Isaac, 3, Georgia, 5, and Brianna McLain of Lahaina on Friday during the 26th annual Celebration of the Arts at The Ritz-Carlton, Kapalua. The theme of this year's event was Ma Ka Hana Ka 'Ike, In Work There is Knowledge. Hoe and Nakahashi were teaching folks how to make Hawaiian instruments out of natural items like bamboo and seeds. Hoe said the event was about "making friends on Maui and sharing aloha."
