A public hearing on draft administrative rules for the prohibited sale or use of polystyrene foam food containers will be held at 5 p.m. Tuesday at the Kalana Pakui Planning Department conference room in Wailuku.

Passed last year, the measure goes into effect Dec. 31.

Before the hearing, written comments may be submitted to Environmental Protection & Sustainability Division, 2145 Wells St., Suite 103, Wailuku 96793.

The Department of Environmental Management will implement the rules that establish administrative guidelines, requirements, regulations and procedures.
